We have started to do our hockey interview show once again. This week we feature Mike Violano - North Haven coach, Bill Gerosa - Notre Dame WH coach, Matt Merola - ND captain , Neil Rodman - South Windsor coach and Ken Barse of Glastonbury. This weeks show covers topics ranging from how can North Haven find the winning formula, Notre Dame claims spot in upcoming CIAC tournament and how a team should respect there coaches.
We also chat about homemade hockey rinks, is the hockey better in the north or southern part of the state?

I had a chance to sit down with Al Carbone the commissioner of the SCC a few minutes ago. We talk a about the on-going SCC fall tournaments and we talk about how the SCC football teams are doing in league play and perhaps a new SCC football tournament on the horizon in the near future.

The high school football teams are gearing up for the run to Rentschler Field the new home for the CIAC football championship games. Along with the comforts of the new site teams will be competing within a new playoff format.
There will be four Division Champions by year-end. The road to the championship will feature quarterfinal round games, semifinal games and the ultimate goal the championship games. A total of thirty-two teams will qualify for the tournament.
One team will try to turn things around with a new head coach. Amity long-time assistant Bert Mozealous is taking over for Mike DeVito. I had a chance to sit down with Bert for a bit and chat. Please enjoy the interview. We will be adding more interviews as the year moves on.

The SCC is expanding field hockey to include a tournament this coming fall and the SCC has decided to expand the tournament fields for the boy's and girl's soccer tournaments in 2010. The audio interview touches upon the topics listed and goes in a different direction when we talk about the state of high school sports.
