Ivy League Lacrosse – Cornell the Top Team
PRINCETON, N.J. -- With a 13-12 win at Harvard, the sixth-ranked Big Red took a giant step towards securing the 2011 Ivy League regular season title. The win places Cornell at the top of the League standings with a 4-0 mark and also made Harvard one of six teams with two Ivy League losses meaning Cornell has clinched at least a share of its ninth consecutive Ivy title. The Big Red built a 5-3 lead it took to halftime and held on in the more offensively charged second half for the win. David Lau found the back of the net with 1:18 left to score what proved to be the game winner, which was also his fifth goal of the game. The Crimson used a career high four goals from Ryan Stevens and 14 saves from Harry Krieger to remain in the hunt until the final whistle.
