SNCT to Broadcast All-Star Baseball |

June 26, 2009 - SportingNewsCT.com will broadcast live the CHSCA All-Star Baseball Classic. A commission of high school and college coaches and scouts will selected 18 Connecticut seniors to battle the best from Massachusetts in a game that has traditionally been played at Fenway Park. This year the contest will be at 1 p.m. on June 28 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich.

SNCT Hooks up with American Legion Baseball for 2009 |

SportingNewsCT.com is gearing up for the 2009 Connecticut American Legion Baseball season. This season’s live coverage will be historic as we go live with video coverage of many of the games throughout the regular year and championship week in late July.
SNCT’s coverage begins in mid-June. During each week of the regular season we will take our microphones and cameras on the road and travel through all 8-Zones to bring you the best and most exciting amateur baseball games in the state.
You can expect to hear or see at least three games a week and as always will have On-Demand rebroadcasts of the games.

May 1, 2009 - New Haven, CT – Twelve student-athletes from six high schools have been
named The SportsCenter of Connecticut/Southern Connecticut Conference
Scholar Athletes of the Month for March. The SportsCenter of Connecticut/SCC Scholar Athlete of the Month program honors outstanding young men and women each month during the 2008-09
academic year. All told, the program will recognize just over 130
student-athletes from the conference’s member schools.

WHAT: Holocaust Survivor Sidney Glucksman to Speak at Notre Dame Sidney Glucksman was a 12-year child at school in Germany when his world changed forever. Taken from his parents, whom he never saw again, Glucksman soon was working as a slave laborer building Army barracks in the Dachau Concentration camp.
He would become a master tailor sewing swastikas on the German Nazi uniforms. Glucksman survived until he was given his freedom in 1945 when the Americans liberated the camp. He wound up settling in New Haven and is a tailor to a who’s who in Connecticut.
His life is currently being made into a documentary called “Threads” by James Campbell. A renowned presenter, Glucksman will share his unbelievable story with Notre Dame students.
