February 12, 2008 - CPTV and News Channel 3 have teamed up with the CIAC under a three-year agreement to create local sports programming throughout the state of Connecticut. The programs will be aired live and on replay. The partnership will televise the upcoming CIAC girl’s and boy’s basketball championships in early March.
CPTV and News Channel 3 experimented with the prospect of developing a sports channel when they partnered to broadcast the CIAC football championship games. The reviews were encouraging enough to move ahead with the vision of a new local sports channel.
