SCSU Women's Basketball Team Minus Two Players |

October 11, 2007 – Southern Connecticut State University women’s basketball coach Meghan Burke Brown has announced that seniors Shamika Jackson (Manchester, Conn.) and LaShauna Jones (Middletown, Conn.) have opted to leave the program. The reigning national champions do not begin their official full-squad workouts until Oct. 15.
“The departures of Shamika and LaShauna are unfortunate, but we wish them the best in future endeavors,” said Burke Brown, who officially assumed her coaching duties with the Owls on Aug. 1. “We are moving forward as a program and the character of our players will not compromise our preparation for the upcoming season. We have a dedicated group of student-athletes and they have shown a strong commitment to the program and its standards.”
