SCSU Women’s Lacrosse Falls To Saint Anselm On Senior Day
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Elaina Heiple (Cheshire, Conn.) and graduate student Marissa Ryan (Waterbury, Conn.) each finished with three points, but the Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team dropped a 23-6 decision to Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls are now 0-13, 0-11 in Northeast-10 play. St. Anselm is 4-8, 4-6 in league action.
Saint Anselm jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Heiple connected on her first of three goals on the day. The Hawks extended their lead to 7-1 before Ryan tallied the first of her two markers.
Trailing 13-2, the Owls ran off three straight goals with Heiple tallying two around a score from Ryan. St. Anselm led 13-5 at halftime.
Jessica Kraszewski (West Haven, Conn.) netted the lone second half goal for the Owls.
The Owls close the 2011 regular season on Friday with an away game against Bentley.
