August 13, 2010 - I had a chance to watch a few innings of the American Legion World Series at legion.org/baseball very nice production but not a nice result for Branford losing 15 to 7 to Moline, IL. Branford actual had a a 5-2 lead early on when Pat Simone, the MVP of the Northeast Regional went deep with a three-run homer to right in the third and added another run on a Casey Dadio single. Branford ace Sean Coughlin started and held the lead briefly. Moline, Il began their rally in fourth and eventually chased Coughlin in the fifth inning. Coughlin allowed six runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth before John Lefeber came on and allowed four more runs in the inning.

Branford plays an elimination game today at 10AM Pacific Time 1PM EST verses  Kernersville, NC. Kernersville lost to Las Vegas, NV 6-5 yesterday.
