Shelton Plays Amity for SCC Baseball Title on Saturday
Shelton overcame a 4-run deficit to beat Law 10-6 and advance to the SCC Baseball Championship game. Eric Christensen picked up the win working six innings. Brett Micheal Doran suffered the loss. The Gaels Mike Georgealas and Tom Carroll collected two RBI each. Josh Rouse picked up to RBI for the Lawmen.
The Amity Spartans Lou Concato worked 5 2/3 innings to pitch the Spartans to a 5-2 win over the Xavier Falcons and earn a trip back to the SCC championship game . Amity scored 5-runs through the first three innings in a variety of ways to chase Xavier starter and loser James Marzi after three innings. The Spartans hitting star shortstop Vin Sienna - two-hits, 2 RBI.
Concato, 10-0 at one point in the game retired twelve in row and finished with 10-strikeouts. The win makes the Spartans 22-0. They will face the Shelton Gaels Saturday May, 29 at Yale field. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
